Almost 150 years ago, the "Lichtenhainer Wasserfall" was already one of the earliest famous features of the Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) and was the setting-off point for the first hikers who wandered on the "tourist paths" through this unique, beautiful region. The guesthouse, built in Swiss style in 1852, was, until the beginning of the 20th century, annexed to a chair-lift, pack-animal and guide´s station, so tha, to avoid the "terrible strain" of an ascent to the cow-shed, you could let yourself be carried up in the chair-lift by 2 carriers.

Bordering the play and lounging area, there is a small stream with the "Natural Barefoot Path" and the option of panning for little gold hunters. Or use the house's own sauna to relax. In order to enjoy your holiday in peace, there is a small physiotherapeutic repertoire offered. It is just the multifaceted nature of the landscapes which assures that the entire family will never be bored. The walking paths range from easy and flat to very steep and varied for more adventure. The climbs in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains are legendary, leading you along the cliff top, which are equipped with iron ladders and steps.

We offer two separate holiday flats with parking lot, which can be rented during the whole year. Both dwellings can be approached senior suitable and without stairs. In front of each accomodation a cosy lounge awaits you, in which you can spend a beautiful evening at the BBQ. Bicycles for bike tours are available for our guests.

Welcome to the village Waltersdorf, a borough of the town Bad Schandau. Waltersdorf is located beautifully in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, also known as the Saxon Switzerland.The most popular table mountain of Saxon Switzerland, the Lilienstein, is in close proximity. Likewise alot of other attractions worth visiting are the famous lookout-point Bastei, the health resort Rathen, the Gamrig mountain, the Polenztal valley and of course the town Bad Schandau. For climbing and hiking tours, our house is an ideal starting point.

Desire for a vacation with friends? Then you should visit our holiday barn. At the base of the Lilienstein at the Elbe, with wonderful view on the fortress, beautiful hiking routes, strewing fruit meadows, sheep, adorable fishing places, campfires, a playground and the famous Elbradweg bike route. For a beautiful time and for recovering after long hikes you find a common room with fire-place, a large kitchen, games area inside the barn for all age groups and a climbing wall. The farmhouse is situated directly at the Elbe, at the Elbradweg bike route and close to a train station, thus being an ideal starting point for hikes into the Saxon Switzerland. A nearby water park is only 3 walking minutes away.
