Welcome to the village Waltersdorf, a borough of the town Bad Schandau. Waltersdorf is located beautifully in the Elbe Sandstone Mountains, also known as the Saxon Switzerland.The most popular table mountain of Saxon Switzerland, the Lilienstein, is in close proximity. Likewise alot of other attractions worth visiting are the famous lookout-point Bastei, the health resort Rathen, the Gamrig mountain, the Polenztal valley and of course the town Bad Schandau. For climbing and hiking tours, our house is an ideal starting point.

Die komplett neu sanierte Villa Waldfrieden befindet sich an der Elbe in Schmilka, einem Ortsteil von Bad Schandau, direkt neben dem Bio-Hotel Helvetia. Ein baubiologisch saniertes Denkmal aus der Jahrhundertwende mit prächtigen Holzbalkonen, auf der Sonnenseite der Elbe inmitten einer 2 Hektar großen Parkanlage mit eigener Elbwiese, Strand und mit Blick auf die berühmten Schrammsteine gelegen. Eine Gartenanlage wie an den oberitalienischen Seen mit alten und seltenen Gehölzen, schönen Parkwegen, Ruhebänken, Liegestühlen und alten Zypressen, die abends einen würzigen Duft verbreiten, lädt zum Verweilen ein. Die extravaganten Interieurs der Doppelzimmer und Suiten sind das Ergebnis der zahlreichen Reisen der Gastgeber. Die naturnahe Herberge auf dem Kulm mit ihrem großen Außengelände liegt im Herzen des Elbsandsteingebirges, unmittelbar am "Malerweg", am Waldrand und ganz in der Nähe von zahlreichen Kletterfelsen.
Von hier aus seht ihr den Lilienstein, die Festung Königstein und die Bastei.
Ihr übernachtet im unsaniertem ehemaligen Ferienlager im DDR-Charme mit Mehrbettzimmern und Gemeinschaftssanitäranlagen, könnt aber auch die schickeren Tinyhäuser oder eine urige einfache Berghütte oder das ganze Gelände mit Zeltplatz mieten.

Our house is situated in a central, but calm location. Many hiking destinies can be approached from the house. A cosy lounge with fire-place (well suitably for family celebrations or groups), a large meadow with pavilion and fire place invite to relax. All rooms are equipped with a mini kitchen. In direct proximity are restaurants, post office, bakers and sauna.

Our approx. 60 sqm large vacation home is on a calm property in the ground floor and approachable over a separate entrance. The sunny meadow, the small children playground with sand box, chute, swing and the campfire place are particularly well suitable for our guests with children. In the evening you can finish your eventful days on our terrace with BBQ or at the campfire place. You can leave your car on a parking lot at the house. The regional train station Lohmen is about 10 minutes walking away. Pets on request.

From our 3-Star Hotel the Elbe river and the cure promenade can be reached within just 10 minutes by foot. The hotel has 20 double and 1 single rooms with altogether 39 beds. We offer comfortably equipped atmosphere with genuine wood furniture and shower, toilet, telephone, radio, TV and Internet connection (Internet not available in every room).
Please have a seat in our restaurant (70 seats) or in our hunting style decorated winter garden with a wonderful view on the Elbe river. Or enjoy a traditional wine from Meißen or a relaxing beer on our beautiful large sun terrace (60 seats).

Our holiday house is characterized by a central, calm setting, a fantastic view and comfortable equipment. Available are apartments for 2 and 2-5 persons, which can be entered separately over a staircase. Lovingly designed in the modern country house style and comfortable equipment, a recreational stay in Elbe Sandstone Mountains is ensured.
The large and small sun terrace in the green garden and the balcony invite with garden furniture and sun couches to stay and relax.

Almost 150 years ago, the "Lichtenhainer Wasserfall" was already one of the earliest famous features of the Sächsische Schweiz (Saxon Switzerland) and was the setting-off point for the first hikers who wandered on the "tourist paths" through this unique, beautiful region. The guesthouse, built in Swiss style in 1852, was, until the beginning of the 20th century, annexed to a chair-lift, pack-animal and guide´s station, so tha, to avoid the "terrible strain" of an ascent to the cow-shed, you could let yourself be carried up in the chair-lift by 2 carriers.
